Pumpkins
Plat Wit Boer A
Was released by the Vegetable and Ornamental Plant Research Institute in 1957
Develops to a size of 4.3kg
Is well adapted in all production areas and gives better results under hot conditions than Van Niekerk
Appearance and quality is good
Although the fruit is smaller than that of Van Niekerk, the total yield per area unit is about the same
Because of the smaller fruit size, it is not recommended for dryland production. With subnormal rainfall, fruit size might be too small for marketing.
Can be used for the processing and fresh market
